Many years have passed since the first clay was thrown at Lady’s Wood from one small manually operated trap on the back lawn. But from little acorns, big oaks grow and Lady’s Wood is now recognized as one of the finest Shooting Schools in the country. This is largely due to the owner, Michael Pinker, who has a gift for getting things right. His reputation for quality and attention to detail is apparent as soon as you turn into the drive.

Michael takes an active role much in evidence at the Shooting School. He is only too pleased to be able to pass on his vast experience and knowledge of shooting to the young entry or the more mature shot. In this modern world, his old-fashioned values, patience and courtesy are all a natural part of the teaching process. Michael’s own experience comes from an introduction to shooting at a very early age and he has since represented both England and Great Britain on many occasions. In addition to clay shooting, Michael has a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the countryside, being a keen naturalist and conservationist and an excellent game shot.
